In this independent comedy, Justin (Thomas Middleditch) is a twentysomething slacker who has a hard time getting out of bed before noon and works part-time mowing lawns with his buddy Wayne (Jason Rogel), who is only slightly more ambitious. Justin hears a lot from his family about making something of himself, but he doesn’t pay much attention until he and Wayne check out a traveling carnival one evening. Justin meets Galaxy (Rachael Taylor), a beautiful and spunky girl who works at a dunk-tank concession, and he is so taken with her he doesn’t mind when she takes his money in a fixed game. Justin unexpectedly crosses paths with Galaxy the next day, and before long he’s spending most of his time with her and her fellow carnies. Has Justin finally found his destiny with Galaxy, or is he just another stop on the road for her? Also starring Lea Thompson, Christopher McDonald, and Frankie Faison, Splinterheads received its world premiere in 2009 at the South by Southwest Film Festival, where director Brant Sersen’s first feature, Blackballed: The Bobby Dukes Story, won the Audience Award in 2004.

In 1964, three civil rights workers from the North disappear in a small Mississippi town and the FBI are sent to investigate. Agent in charge Alan Ward does everything by the book. Agent Rupert Anderson however was a Sheriff in Mississippi before joining the FBI and understands the local culture. He’s also prepared to bend the rules a bit if it will help in the investigation. They focus on the Sheriff’s office and Deputy Clinton Pell in particular as they think he may be the weakest link in the conspiracy. As the investigation intensifies however, the KKK launch a series of attacks against the local African-American population. With no one on either side prepared to talk, Ward agrees to Anderson using his own unorthodox methods to learn what happened that night and who killed the three men.

A disgraced criminal defense attorney uncovers evidence of corruption within the police department while attempting a career comeback in this crime drama from director Jeff Celentano (Under the Hula Moon, Say It in Russian). Before his career was sidelined by drug addiction and a family tragedy, Steven Luisi (Tom Berenger) defended some of the worst criminals in the city. These days he’s sober and determined to get his career back on track. When Luisi catches wind of a sordid, well-publicized murder case, he decides to pursue it despite the knowledge that it may steer him down a dark path. Before long Luisi has formed a partnership with Richard “Beanz” Allen (Kirk \”Sticky Fingaz\” Jones). A former star athlete who has since fallen back to the streets, Beanz has all the dirt on local drug dealer/gang leader Al Bowen (Busta Rhymes). But in order to bring Bowen to justice and expose his connection to the police department, Luisi will have to open himself up to some intense scrutiny. As the stakes get higher, Luisi and his unlikely ally take their fight for truth and justice from the streets to the courtroom.

Unfortunately, Catherine gets involved too deeply with Thomas to keep a professional distance to the case. Fortunately, Thomas seems to fall for her, too.

When the tail of rogue comet Rhea-M passes through Earth’s atmosphere, humanity’s worst nightmares come to life as machines gradually develop minds of their own, turning on their creators in bloody rebellion. At the Dixie Boy truck stop just outside Wilmington, North Carolina, both workers and patrons alike are coming to grips with the horror as a series of increasingly bizarre accidents occur, some injurious, some near-fatal, and some fatal. The terror finally comes to a head when the parked trucks – led by one for a toy company which sports a demonically-smiling goblin face – each start up on their own, circling the truck stop and preventing anyone from getting in or out. Trapped by the trucks and an emotionless manager (’Pat Hingle’ (qv)), a young ex-con (’Emilio Estevez’ (qv)) takes it upon himself to lead the rescue of anyone in the immediate vicinity who’s life is in danger, and to ultimately escape the truck stop and head to safety. Unfortunately, things become more complicated when a machine-gun-mounted mobile platform orders each of the humans to pump gasoline for the trucks. Pitted against an army of machines demonized by an unknown phenomenon, the people trapped in the Dixie Boy truck stop must use stealth and a concealed arsenal to escape. In the meantime, they realize that there is more to the tail of Rhea-M than they initially thought.
